Critique

Ashley Coletti

The art shows six separate pieces of artwork, which I will take as one whole piece. The artist is Ashley Coletti whose artwork is yet to be named yet the medium used was watercolor and Markers. Each one gives the other piece a bigger and greater look. There is such a great balance, there is no clutter or chaotic feel, but a small hint of flow or movement in the background. The eye centers itself to the rose, which is the subject matter in all six pieces. The artworks show such a cold feel with a slight touch of warmth. The mood of the pieces kind of shows a simple background not so warm or joyful with a more colorful and warm romantic feel. I don’t know if that is what this artist was trying to get across but to me this artwork feel like there is beauty in the most simplistic of places.
